The last few weeks have been slightly more chilled back and to be honest I did have one or two days where I splurged on food a bit!
Week three started off with a bit of a flare up so I wasn't feeling the best for the first few days. I was also a bit disappointed as I was 1.5lbs up! I do know why and that is simply - Mother Nature! (All you ladies know) so after dusting myself off I continued eating healthy and tried to get one or two workouts in. Week four was much of the same. However I had a 2.5lbs Loss!!
I am a creature of habit so when I find a recipe that is tasty and easy to do I tend to stick with it so alot of the recipes were similar to the last blog.
I found batch cooking soup was brilliant as the last few weeks I had lunch sorted everyday. I will be posting my delicious Butternut Squash soup recipe next week :)
Week 5 was a complete shambles. Although the start of the week was healthy and on plan the weekend was a complete feast of indulgent goodies! We had my grandfather's 80th Birthday and as a result there was a lot of 'not so healthy' foods on offer for both the Saturday night and Sunday.
My mum and I made Grandad's cake (which I am really proud of) and I kid you not when I say I was eating cake from 8:30am Sunday morning! It was SO good!!
After all the celebrations and heavy food I felt very sick the Monday and I did not go to get weighed in as a result.
Because I didn't get weighed in I again didn't stick 100% to plan last week as I thought the damage is already done! I know, not great Katie but hey, this is real life! I had a 3in1, chicken tenders and a few drinks at the weekend and I was honestly dreading stepping up on the scales come Monday.
I was contemplating missing another week however I put on my shoes and went down to get weighed. To my surprise I put on 2lbs. This is a surprise as I was expecting to have at least 5lbs up over two weeks of half healthy eating.
Even though I had a gain I am so happy I went down. I am back on the bandwagon and have prepared soups, sauces and meals for the week ahead to stay on plan and really try to shift them 2lbs off again.
In total I have lost 7lbs in 5weeks. It is not alot compared to others but I am happy with how my slow, steady progress in going. I fell off the plan, but I am not losing faith and I am hoping right back on with a fresh week and fresh start.
Life is about balance and the past two weeks have shown me - if I eat healthy and on plan 90% of the time the 10% won't make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things.
This is a marathon not a sprint! Slow, steady weightloss that I can keep off is my main goal. Here's to an on plan, healthy week ahead.
Until next time
