Today's blog post is about the 'Power of Makeup' and how makeup can transform and enhance your features. As a Makeup Artist I love being able to make people feel confident and beautiful through the application of makeup. Although it sounds cliché, I always believe that everyone has their own kind of beauty and it's my job only to enhance the features they have not change them. Why change the things that make you unique and beautiful?
Personally I love what makeup does for my features. I'm not being vain when I say I have amazing eyes. I know my eyes are my best feature and I love being able to create looks that bring out the blue in them or show off my long lashes. I like my eyes, I'm not afraid to say that! :) However, I have a round face and a big nose. Something I can be self conscious about. That's why I use bronzer to contour the sides of my face and nose. When I do this I sculpt my face to appear slimmer and make my nose slightly smaller. I cannot however give myself amazing bone structure like Angelina Jolie, and I don't want to because then that would be trying to change what I've been given to work with. You just gotta embrace it people!!!
After watching Nikkietutorials video on youtube (link below) - I was inspired to do a test of applying makeup to one side of my face and to leave the other side completely bare. As you can see in the images below makeup definitely helps me out! However, it doesn't completely change the person I am.
Personally, wearing makeup makes me feel more confident. I love the whole process of applying it, I go to my own little world for a while and I forget about all the stresses and worries of life - if just for a moment.
There can be a stigma with a girl loving makeup in today's world. The only reason you wear makeup is to either change how you look or to impress people or to even trick people into thinking you have no imperfections.
From personal experiences, I find it is the imperfections that make people truly beautiful. If we all looked the same the world would be an extremely boring place!
Embrace the beauty you have. If you want to wear black lipstick do it! If you want to rock an orange cheek do it! At the end of the day it's only makeup! It does not change who you are as a person.
Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Why not tell me one thing you love about yourself?
Until next time,
