On Wednesday 27th October I had the opportunity to attend the launch of the Mac Cosmetics Christmas Collection in Brown Thomas, Galway.
This was my first time attending such an event and I was extremely impressed with the evening. Being greeted by friendly staff at a champagne reception it was truly a wonderful experience. We were offered gingerbread cookies and had a very talented saxophone player keeping us entertained. And of course all the products were on display for everyone to see.
The collection this year is by far the best I have seen. There are a huge range of sets to choose from in a great variety of colours. And all at a great price! This years collection is 'Magic Of The Night'. What I love about the packaging (as you will see below) is it does not look 'christmasy'; the colours and makeup bags you receive are sleek, stylish and can be used at any time of year.
Onto the products...
There are some fab sets this year. From eyes to lips to brushes. Each gift sets has colours which all compliment each other and are perfect for carrying in the handbag or storing on the vanity.
My favourite items are always pigments and this year was no different. With three sets of four colours consisting of Golds, Silvers and Purples, they are huge value at €35.
The lip products are great as there are three beautiful shades to choose from and each set consists of a lip pencil, gloss and lipstick. Perfect for all the lipstick junkies out there.
The brush collection is probably the greatest value as it contains five brushes costing on €60. They are short handled but the value is still incredible considering one brush can be anywhere up to €40.
I had a quick glance at the eye palette set which also comes with a lipstick and brow pencil which can also be used for lining the eyes. The shades are nice with a variety of mattes and shimmers.
The highlighter for this Christmas is AMAZING. The minute I seen it I knew I was going to love it. For anyone that loves Mac's Soft and Gentle you need this in your life. It is a stunning gold that flatters any skin tone. This will sell out fast no doubt as anyone that was there seemed to have it in their hands for purchase.
There are also pressed pigments, patent lipstick, eye compacts and lip compacts available and the Viva Glam lip set with all proceeds go to charity).
Here are a few photos I managed to take.
The Magic Of The Night Collection goes on sale this week and the price point starts at €18.50 upwards.
I really enjoyed the night and cannot wait for the next event! I was hugely impressed with the display and the whole experience Brown Thomas and Mac Cosmetics gave us. A great evening well spent. I will have another blog post of products I purchased on the night and some swatches so stay tuned! Hope you enjoyed reading this post.
Until next time,
