Today we are going to take a look at the brush set from Cara Pharmacy which retails at €29.50. In this set you get 12 brushes - 5 large face brushes & 7 small detail brushes.
They are synthetic bristles and the barrel of the brush is a sleek black and very comfortable to hold. They also come in a black or pink holder to store the brushes in.
The Brushes in detail...
C01 is a flat foundation brush. Personally I'm not a huge fan of this style but it is soft and nice to roughly apply foundation. I do find with this brush shape you are left with brush strokes (from all brands I've tried). I have been using this for cream contours.
C02 is a stippling brush and is great for applying cream products. I love this to buff out cream blush and contour colours. Again it's personal preference when it comes to whether you would like this for foundation. This type of brush is an essential piece in any collection and Cara did a really nice job with this one.
C03 is an angled face brush. I really like this one. It makes powder products blend effortlessly and it is super soft. It just feels lovely to use. Perfect for blush and bronzer.
C04 is a compact foundation brush. I have been using this lately to apply a variety of foundations and it is a good standard brush. It does soak up some product so it is something that has to be taken into considering but it is ok.
C05 this is a flat shader brush. It is good for packing on eyeshadow or I like to use it to apply and blend out under eye concealer. Multi use is always a plus!
C06 is a compact eye brush. I really like this for applying primer - it makes it super quick and easy to do.
C07 is an angled brush. This is the only brush I haven't grabbed for as I don't see a complete use for it. It is slightly to thick to use for liner or brows. I would probably use this to help with a cut crease.
C08 is a blush/powder brush. again a pretty standard brush it does what it's suppose to.
C09 is an eyeliner brush and it is a great little brush. Small enough to get a super thin liner. You can't go wrong with these brushes and its great to get affordable ones.
C10 is a brow brush. In my opinion it is a little to big and fluffy to get a defined brow but it can be used to blend out eye shadows.
C11 is a shader brush. It was difficult to blend out shadows with this brush but it really packs on colour.
C12 is a tapered eye brush. I liked this for the crease to build colour up slowly. I don't have a brush like this so it's nice to try it out.
Taking everything into consideration this is a great starter set for people. If you don't have many makeup brushes and want to get a few together you can't go wrong with these. The price is extremely affordable at €29.50 and they can be bought online at Cara Pharmacy.
While I will use this brushes for myself, from a professional point of view I prefer my Blank Canvas and Zoeva ones. That said, they are a great value brush set and like I said if you are starting to get into makeup or want to get a few new brushes definitely try them out and let me know what you think.
Hope this blog helped and you enjoyed reading it.
Until next time,
P.S. I have washed these brushes several times and they are holding up nicely with no stray hairs. The handle on one or two of them is slightly loose but other than that I am still enjoying them.
