In today's post I am talking about my all time favourite liquid liner. If you are a fan of a good winged liner look then you probably know the struggle of finding a good liner to suit you and make it a little bit less tense when applying them stressful flicks! Well here's the one I swear by...
Kat Von D Ink Liner
The Kat Von D Ink Liner in Trooper is (in my opinion) the best liquid liner on the market. I have tried many liquid liners and none compare this pen. First off the packaging is nice and easy to hold and you can get right up to the root of the lashes. It is also a SUPER black ink and waterproof which is always a plus so it does not smudge or transfer once set.
The most common problem with pens like this is they tend to dry half way through application. This product does not do that and stays fluid the whole time, I have one I bought last November and it is still like new with each time I use it. I only use it on myself however for hygiene reasons and truth be told I should really throw it out and open the new one in my draw but it is honestly still perfectly applying the liner.
The reason why it is my favourite liner is done to the tip or applicator. As you can see in the picture above it is like a felt tip pen. However, it is flexible so it moulds to the shape of your eye to make it effortless. It also dries quickly meaning if you are like me and have hooded eyes it won't transfer to the top lid. You can also create the thinnest line possible with the tip so it is great for detail work or inner corner points!
In a nutshell it is deadly! You can now get it from Debenhams for €20 and trust me... Whether you are a professional liquid liner expert or a beginner starting this is the best liner out there!
Have you tried it? Are you as obsessed as I am? Let me know below! ;)
Until next time,
In today's post I am sharing one of the great little beauty faves to keep your skin looking beautifully flawless and glowing... Keep reading to find out more....
Top Secrets by YSL Beauty
See what I did there with the title? This weeks star product is the YSL Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow. I honestly don't know whether to call this a cream or a serum I just know it is a little tube of magic.
I picked this up last year and I have repurchased this countless times. It is one of my favourite skin care items in my inventory. It is a 'blur perfecting moisturiser', in my opinion it is more like a hybrid of a moisturiser/serum.
What does it do?
Like I said, it is a little tube of magic. In the tube you get 40mls of product and I use this for EVERYTHING.
I apply this as moisturiser in the morning on those days when I want to go makeup free but have my skin looking dewy and fresh.
I use it as primer under my favourite foundation to add extra hydration to my skin and to make my foundation apply with ease and most importantly look flawless.
If I'm wearing makeup all day and want to continue into the night I apply a small amount on top of my foundation to refresh and replenish it. It leaves the skin looking like the makeup has been just done which is super handy for those Saturdays when I'm going straight from doing makeup to the town
Sometimes when I am being extra nice to my skin I will use this as serum before moisturiser again to hydrate and leave the skin feeling super soft.
Literally, you can use this for anything... mix it in with foundation, use as primer or simple use the product on its own. It really is a top secret skin care item. MAGIC!
You can purchase this product for €40 and while it is on the pricier side it is most definitely worth it! You will see instant results with your skin looking so fresh. And it also smells really nice! So if you are thinking of treating you skin to some TLC this is a great product to start with!
Hope you enjoyed reading this. Let me know if you have tried this and leave your thoughts below!
Until next time,
In today's blog post we are going to talk about Bridal lipstick choices. Over the past few weeks I have gotten a couple of ladies asking me for lipstick recommendations so I thought I would stick them all up here in one blog post!
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of you life and you want to look your best for it. I have already wrote a blog on Bridal Trial Tips(Click Here). In it, one of the things I mention was lipstick and here is a few of my suggestions for perfect bridal shades.
The Pinks & Nudes...
The most common shades bride's tend to go for are the pink and nude tones as they are very natural and give you a 'your lips but better' look. Here are some of my favourites.
Yes this is on the pricey end of the lipstick range but it is by far my favourite pinky nude colour out of all the lipsticks in my collection. The formula is long lasting and super hydrating so there will be no chapped lips when going for that first kiss! It retails for €33 and if you are going to treat yourself I highly recommend this colour.
This colour is a stunning raspberry pink perfect for those who want a bit of colour on the lips but nothing to crazy or out there. It is a very natural colour and has a demi matte finish. Again it is hydrating and paired with a clear gloss is simple stunning, It costs €10.49 so it is a great inexpensive lipstick.
If you love nude lipsticks from MAC chances are you have heard of this shade. It is one of my favourites as it is not too light and not too dark - a perfect balance to make you lips look amazing. It is beautiful on tanned/darker skin and has a satin finish which adds a soft sheen to the lips. MAC Lipsticks sell for €20.
You by no means have to splurge on a lipstick and this Rimmel one is the perfect example of a beautiful colour at a super affordable price. The Rimmel Kate Lipsticks are great drugstore options as they have great pigmentation and are super hydration on the lips. This colour is a beautiful soft barbie pink and the best part is it only costs €7.49!
The Ultimate Reds...
For the brides to be looking for a vintage look or simple wanting to wear red lipstick these are the only two I recommend. Both are from YSL and both are breathtakingly beautiful! One is more of a true red and the other has a blue undertone to it.
It is number one for a reason. The best selling YSL Shade and one of the most amazing red lipstick out there! It is truly the Marilyn Monroe/Audrey Hepburn iconic red lipstick. If you are going for that 1950's look this is the one you need!
This YSL shade has more of a blue undertone to it making it a little bit softer and easier to wear that the 01 shade. I personally like reds with blue undertones as they look great with paler skin however this is a gorgeous colour and one of Khloe Kardashian's favourites. Honestly, if I had to choose between the two I would pick this one but that is of course personal preference!
I hope you found this post helpful and if you have worn any of these lipstick on your wedding day or are thinking of doing so let me know in the comments below!
Until next time,
Today's post is going to be all things bridal! Planning a wedding can be stressful enough so this is a quick guide of some of the tips and to dos when organising you bridal makeup trial...
Preparing for your trial...
There are so many great makeup artists out there that it can be quite daunting trying to decide who you want for your big day. If you find someone you like, check out there social media for reviews and client feedback. Email them with and enquire to see if your date is available and if so, book a trial with them.
I recommend you book your trial approximately 3 months prior to you wedding day. This allows time to create the look you want and think about anything you want added or taken away.
If you plan on wearing tan on your wedding day, use your makeup trials as an opportunity to test out you tan. You will get a better picture of how the makeup will look on the actually wedding day and you will also be able to see how the tan wears, so you get a great view of the makeup and a tan trial too! ;) (Is also makes the Makeup Artist job easier as they will know the exact colour foundation to match to).
One of my most invaluable tips for a Bridal trial is to wear white. Why? Because this will let you see how the makeup will look against your wedding dress. It will also show how the makeup will photograph against the contrast of the white. I highly recommend doing this. A t-shirt is perfect to get a generally idea.
Before going to your trial have an idea of what kind of look you want for your big day. Stick with the theme of the wedding (example: Vintage wedding - Vintage makeup) and don't try a new adventurous look. Look up a few pictures on Pinterest and bring them with you, You want your makeup to enhance your features and make you the best version of yourself. You shouldn't look like a different person and unrecognisable.
While we may want to look like Kim Kardashian or have Kylie's lips stick to timeless makeup. Try not to go with a trend as that's all it is - a trend. You don't want to look back in 50 years and think 'My God, what was with my makeup!'. Natural beauty is always best. If you always wear black smokey eyes, do it! You'll look different without them. If you love red lips, do it! Timeless doesn't necessarily mean you don't be yourself, just don't follow the current trends.
The most important thing to do for your trial is be honest with your Makeup Artist. They are there to do a look that you want and should not be offended if you want something changed. Of course, be polite when explaining. You want your makeup to look flawless and last all day. Don't be afraid to ask questions and request more or less.
My last tip and probably the most helpful for your wedding day is to purchase the lipstick you are going to use. You will be doing a lot of kissing and hugging and eating and drinking so the lipstick will inevitably wear off. Your Makeup Artist will tell you what shade to get and your bridesmaid can keep it at the ready You'll also have a lipstick to wear that reminds you of your special day!
DON'T STRESS & ENJOY!
The most important piece of advice!
