In today's post I am going to show you all the new Urban Decay Boutique has to offer. I was invited by the lovely Roisin to attend a masterclass with Danielle Roberts last week and take a look at the new store at 50 Grafton Street.
First off the location of the boutique is brilliant. It is at the top of Grafton Street right across from St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. You can't miss it with it's signature UD Purple facade.
Urban Decay are one of my favourite brands as you can probably tell from previous posts so I was really excited when I heard about the Boutique opening. It did not disappoint! The store is nice and spacious and the makeup displays are gorgeous.
I must have spent a solid 30 minutes looking at all the Vice Lipsticks on display!
There are four makeup stations down stairs with built in selfie holders so you can record your makeup application on your phone. And if you are worried about not having enough battery to do so; simply plug your phone in at the station! Such a genius idea!
The boutique has every product you can imagine but it also has some exclusives you can only get in store. These include a palette called Afterdark. It is stunning! Similar to the Moondust palette with even more beautiful colours. I will definitely be calling in to purchase!
There is also a beautiful Naked Collection Blush/Bronzer in Fireball, the amazing Vetizer Powder and Liquid Aura drops which Danielle showcased in her masterclass. We asked her out of all the products used what would be on her 'must have list' first and she said without doubt the Aura drops.
You can mix these into foundation to give your skin some dewy, healthy glow. Also the Illuminated Blush was a personal favourite of mine! Perfect for the drapping trend at the minute!
Upstairs there is the Urban Decay Lounge with six makeup stations and a giant shadow wall! This space can be booked for private parties and it is perfect for hen's or birthdays. There is also cool gadgets including a selfie mirror where you can email your makeovers or display them on the UD TVs!
Overall I was extremely impressed with the setup of the Boutique. It is spacious, beautiful and the UD Lounge is brilliant offering a private space for any special occasion!
I want to thank Roisin for inviting me to check out the store and also for a few goodies that are being put to use! Stay tuned for thoughts on some of the new products!
If you are in the area definitely call in to have a look, you will agree with me when I say it is AMAZING! I am already planning my next trip up to get the Naked Heat Palette! Who else is excited for this launch?
Hope you've enjoyed reading this post! Let me know if you've been to the new store. I've left a gallery of photos below for you to check out! ;)
Until next time,
In today's post I am talking about my all time favourite liquid liner. If you are a fan of a good winged liner look then you probably know the struggle of finding a good liner to suit you and make it a little bit less tense when applying them stressful flicks! Well here's the one I swear by...
Kat Von D Ink Liner
The Kat Von D Ink Liner in Trooper is (in my opinion) the best liquid liner on the market. I have tried many liquid liners and none compare this pen. First off the packaging is nice and easy to hold and you can get right up to the root of the lashes. It is also a SUPER black ink and waterproof which is always a plus so it does not smudge or transfer once set.
The most common problem with pens like this is they tend to dry half way through application. This product does not do that and stays fluid the whole time, I have one I bought last November and it is still like new with each time I use it. I only use it on myself however for hygiene reasons and truth be told I should really throw it out and open the new one in my draw but it is honestly still perfectly applying the liner.
The reason why it is my favourite liner is done to the tip or applicator. As you can see in the picture above it is like a felt tip pen. However, it is flexible so it moulds to the shape of your eye to make it effortless. It also dries quickly meaning if you are like me and have hooded eyes it won't transfer to the top lid. You can also create the thinnest line possible with the tip so it is great for detail work or inner corner points!
In a nutshell it is deadly! You can now get it from Debenhams for €20 and trust me... Whether you are a professional liquid liner expert or a beginner starting this is the best liner out there!
Have you tried it? Are you as obsessed as I am? Let me know below! ;)
Until next time,
Today's post is taking a look at the Sculpted Palette by Amiee Connolly. For those of you who don't know who Amiee is she is a Irish makeup artist who writes a beauty column for the Sunday World and has also been featured many times on TV3's Xposé. She release this palette along with a brush last year and I am finally putting it under review. So let's get to it.
The Sculpting & Highlighting Brush
The brush (that is sold seperately for €12.95) is a duel ended brush to use with the shades in the palette both for contouring and highlighting. The quality of the brush itself is nice for the price point. The hair is super soft so it feels nice on the skin and the size of both brushes are perfect for their duties. The bigger side is perfect for blending out bronzer while still giving precision for contouring. The highlight brush is also nice and is tapered so you can apply highlight where needed with ease. I am impressed with this brush and have been using it since receiving these products a couple of weeks ago.
Sculpted Highlight & Shader Set
Overall I like this product. The packaging is sleek and compact and there is a big mirror so you can use it on the go. It retails for €24.95 so it's not super expensive and the shades are very universally pleasing.
The bronzer is a beautiful sun kissed golden brown that is perfect if you have a slight tan. The colour payoff is good so you don't need to use a lot of product, There is a slight bit of 'kickback'* so I would recommend tapping off some of the excess product before applying it to the hallows of the cheeks.
The Golden Sheen is STUNNING! I am obsessed with is as both a highlight and an eyeshadow. It is a beautiful gold shimmer and just so so pretty. This has hardly any fallout but it is very shimmery so if you are not into that blinding highlight you might think it is a bit much. I, however, love it and again, with a tan is just looks amazing!
The cream shade - champagne cream, compared to the other two is more subtle. It is a cream so it can be used as a base for Golden Sheen but it is also nice on it's own for a dewy finish to the cheekbones. I would use this on days I want a very soft highlight. It leaves a very healthy, natural glow on the skin and would be perfect for any brides to be out there.
Overall I think both the palette and the brush are well made and I would recommend them if you wanted natural, easy way to contour and highlight. The Golden Shade is one of my favourites at the minute. It is just beautiful. This product has been added to my professional kit so that will tell you how highly I rate it.
There is a full stockist on Amiee's website here.
Hope you enjoyed this post! Have you tried this palette yet? What are your thoughts? Let me know in a comment.
Until next time,
I did receive this product at a PR event but as always all opinions are 100% honest.
Today's post is taking a look at the new Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask. As you may know I have extremely dry, dehydrated skin so I am always on the hunt for the 'miracle' product to hydrate my skin
What is it?
This mask is said to hydrate and revitalise while reducing the signs of fine lines and wrinkles and makes the skin radiant. Big claims in my opinion.
This make is for those with dehydrated skin that need a boost on the go. It is inspired by Asian skincare which is always a winner for me!
In 15 minutes: Skin is intensely rehydrated, Skin looks smoother, Complexion is radiant. Fine lines appear reduced, Skin looks plumper, Skin radiance is revitalised.
So does it work?
Like I said I have super dry, dehydrated skin. I did feel the benefit of this mask and the fact it only took 15 minutes was great. I used it before applying makeup and the difference it made was immense! My skin felt so soft after the mask. I have also been using the Moisture Bomb face cream to in conjunction with the mask and it has been a game changer!
I will continue to use these masks as a boost to my skin probably once a week to get my weekly hydrating glycerin! The mask is only €2.09 so an inexpensive little luxury. Who doesn't love a good mask to relax and unwind!
Have you tried this mask out?
